Ahoy matey! Join us on a voyage of discovery and fun through the South Street Seaport Museum’s interactive early childhood program, miniMATES! Our early learning programs uses themed songs, stories, art projects, and hands-on activities to teach program participants and their caregivers about boats and ships, marine life, and artifacts in a playgroup setting. miniMATES targets key aspects of development for children ages 18 months – 4 years from language to creativity to fine-motor skills.
Program Schedule: Our fall session will begin September 28th through December 14th for 10 weeks. Families can choose between two time slots for the duration of the sessions:
|Thursdays||10:00 am – 11:00 am||4:00 pm – 5:00 pm|
Class enrollment is capped at 12 children. If there is enough interest, a second morning session will be added to relieve families from the waiting list.
Cost: $250 for the 10-class session (10% off enrollment for each additional child)
Family-level museum members receive an additional $15 off towards Fall enrollment.

We are excited to announce the start of Open Play at the South Street Seaport Museum! During Open Play, parents/caregivers and their children can stop by the Museum to use the miniMATES space as their playroom. Children can enjoy having a large space to explore and a variety of toys to use (including a large dramatic play tugboat and a sand sensory table!), all while making new friends in our South Street Seaport neighborhood. Open Play sessions will be offered several times per week, allowing families the flexibility to drop in and play whenever works best with their schedules.
