The Seaport Museum aims to make our facilities accessible to all visitors. Due to the historical nature of our ships and Landmarked buildings, access varies for each location. Please see the specific access details below and call ahead or email tickets@seany.org with any mobility questions or accommodation requests.
1885 Tall ship Wavertree and 1908 Lightship Ambrose: Access to the main deck of each vessel involves climbing a few stairs, walking up an angled gangway, and descending a few stairs onto the deck. The ‘tween deck and cargo hold of Wavertree are accessible via stairs, while the upper deck requires navigating steep, ladder-like stairs. On Ambrose, reaching each deck requires going up and down stairs.
1885 Schooner Pioneer and 1930 Tugboat W.O. Decker: The gangway and a railing at the public boarding site promote safer and easier access for all passengers, especially for those with visual impairments and people of a wide range of mobility levels.
12 Fulton Street: All exhibitions in the introduction galleries are accessible without stairs. Access to bathrooms requires walking up and down a few stairs.
207 and 209 Water Street and Bowne & Co. Stationers at 211 Water Street: Access to the gift emporium and letterpress print shop, as well as workshops and event space require walking up and down a few stairs.
