Moby-Dick was first published in London on October 18, 1851 , in three volumes titled The Whale. The U.S. edition was published a month later on November 14th.
Join South Street Seaport Museum, and MDMNYC on Saturday, November 15 at the Herman Melville Gallery (213 Water Street) for a special reading of Moby Dick, lead by Museum Historian, and Melville Society Boon Companion, Jack Putnam.
