Holiday Tree Lighting Activities

Holiday Tree Lighting Activities

November 28 | 5–8pm | 12 Fulton Street | Free

Get into the festive spirit at the Seaport Museum’s introduction galleries with extended hours from 5–8pm during the neighborhood holiday tree lighting event!

Witness the annual tree lighting ceremony on the cobblestone streets, and pop into the Museum’s introduction galleries for some seasonal delight. Families and visitors of all ages are encouraged to join in the creative fun by crafting your own baggywrinkle, charming maritime-inspired decorations perfect for the holidays, using vibrant yarn. Baggywrinkle, traditionally made from unraveled ropes, is a ships’ tool used to safeguard sails from damage.

This event is free, but please let us know that you’re coming by registering below.

Please Note This is a Past Program, Event, or Activity

You are viewing an archived page for a program, event, or activity that has already taken place. In most cases these pages are no longer actively maintained and because of that may contain inaccurate or out-of-date information. These pages are left publicly viewable to preserve institutional memory and to allow the public to learn more about the types of programs, activities, and content created and made available by the South Street Seaport Museum throughout its history.

Live performances and additional family activities will take place on Fulton Street during the tree lighting to mark the official start of the holidays. More information on the full line up coming soon!
