December 5 | 6–8:30pm | 213 Water Street | Free
Join the Seaport Museum as we help wrap up the first day of Terror Camp’s Fifth Virtual Conference, bringing together the global polar community for an evening of art, conversation, and Arctic-inspired celebration while surrounded by artifacts of New York’s rich maritime history.
Following the conclusion of the conference’s daytime programming, local visitors are invited to explore a festive, polar-inspired maker’s market in the Museum’s historic 1868 building A.A. Thomson & Co. and check out the exhibition Maritime City.
Throughout the evening, there will be readings of polar poetry and prose, screenings of polar films for a bit of atmosphere, and music. All three floors of the Museum will remain open just for this event! Plus, don’t miss your chance to enter a raffle for unique polar-themed prizes.
This gathering is free and open to all. Come meet members of the Terror Camp community, explore part of the Museum, discover arctic-inspired creations, and enjoy a bit of holiday and polar cheer!

About Terror Camp
Since 2021, Terror Camp has been an annual virtual gathering of hundreds of polar exploration enthusiasts. Open to presenters and attendees of all skill levels, Terror Camp was born out of a love for AMC’s The Terror and the history of the Franklin Expedition, and has featured academics and actors, scientists and show runners alike as speakers. The most recent conference in December 2024 featured talks on both Antarctic and Arctic history across three days, plus workshops, posters, and keynotes.
