Celebrate architecture and design with the Seaport Museum’s Jane’s Walk tour!
The Municipal Art Society of New York’s (MAS) annual Jane’s Walk NYC weekend returns May 2–4. This annual festival of free, community-led walking conversations is inspired by urbanist, author, and activist Jane Jacobs. During the weekend, the simple act of exploring the city is enhanced with personal observations, local history, and civic engagement. Jane’s Walk NYC encourages people to share stories about their neighborhoods, discover unseen aspects of their communities, and connect with visitors and neighbors alike.
Reserve your space today for the Museum’s abbreviated 45-minute version of the Women Who Wowed walking tour. Together we will wind through the cobblestones of the South Street Seaport Historic District uncovering the often under-recognized contributions of the women who helped build this city. Advanced registration is required through the MAS website for this free tour. Rain or shine.

About The Municipal Art Society of New York
The Municipal Art Society of New York (MAS) envisions a future in which all New Yorkers share in the richness of city life—where growth is balanced, character endures, and a resilient future is secured. For 130 years their advocacy efforts have led to the creation of the New York City Planning Commission, Public Design Commission, Landmarks Preservation Commission, and the Tribute in Light; the preservation of Grand Central Terminal, the lights of Times Square, and the Garment District; the conservation of more than 50 works of public art; and the founding of such civic organizations as the Public Art Fund, the New York Landmarks Conservancy, P.S. 1, the Historic Districts Council, the Park Avenue Armory Conservancy, and the Waterfront Alliance.
