Plazzy At The ‘Port

Plazzy At The ‘Port

May 7 | 7pm | Wavertree | $16–$30

Come aboard the tall ship Wavertree at the Seaport Museum to join RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 16 breakout star Plasma for a night of song and dance! Together we’ll enjoy nautical-themed musical numbers celebrating Broadway icons Barbra Streisand and Patti LuPone, such as a fully staged production number of “Anything Goes,” and more delightfully fun numbers.

Want to get a taste of what’s in store? Check out Plasma’s stellar recreation of Barbra Streisand’s “Don’t Rain On My Parade” from Funny Girl, which has now been enjoyed by over 550,000 people and features the Seaport Museum’s one-and-only W.O. Decker.

Claim your ticket today to enjoy this Spring evening of dancing, singing, and laughter. Advanced registration is encouraged but walkups will be accommodated as possible. Seated tickets are $30 and standing tickets are $20. Seaport Museum members receive 20% off on tickets; just sign in when prompted at checkout to receive your discount. Doors open at 6:30pm.

Please Note This is a Past Program, Event, or Activity

You are viewing an archived page for a program, event, or activity that has already taken place. In most cases these pages are no longer actively maintained and because of that may contain inaccurate or out-of-date information. These pages are left publicly viewable to preserve institutional memory and to allow the public to learn more about the types of programs, activities, and content created and made available by the South Street Seaport Museum throughout its history.

About the Performer

Plasma is a vintage-inspired femme fatale straight out of Old Hollywood. Raised listening to Julie Andrews, Judy Garland, and Barbra Streisand, Plasma channeled her love for divas into drag…and the rest is history. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in musical theater performance and was a contestant on Season 16 of RuPaul’s Drag Race.

Enjoy More That the Museum Offers

Access to the historic ships and exhibitions on view is not included with your ticket to this event. If you would like to explore more that the Museum has to offer, book in advance or ask Museum staff about General Admission tickets when you check in.

General Admission is available Friday through Sunday, from 11am to 5pm and brings you aboard the 1885 tall ship Wavertree and 1908 lightship Ambrose at Pier 16, and into all current exhibitions on view in the first-floor Schermerhorn Row galleries at 12 Fulton Street. Your ticket also sets you on course to explore Maritime City, the Seaport Museum’s immersive, three-floor exhibition at A.A. Thomson & Co., located at 213 Water Street.

About the 1885 Tall Ship Wavertree

Wavertree was built at Southampton, England, in 1885 and, after a 24-year sailing career and circumnavigating the globe at least three times, is now the last remaining iron-hulled three-masted full-rigged cargo ship. Today, Wavertree serves as the iconic centerpiece of the bustling waterfront that shaped New York City into a modern metropolis.

Please note that boarding the tall ship Wavertree requires climbing a small set of ladder-type stairs and an angled gangway.
