April 19 | 11am | Starting at 207 Water Street | Free
Seaport Museum members are invited to a special early-access morning preview with Australian conservation and nature photographer Jon McCormack for a first look at Elements of Wonder: When Nature Becomes Art, opening to the public on Earth Day, April 22.
Produced in partnership with Photoville, this outdoor exhibition features striking images from McCormack’s decade-long environmental project spanning five continents. As you move through the large-scale cubes that display the work, you’ll experience the natural world at dramatically different scales—from microscopic mineral formations to sweeping aerial views of rivers and coastlines—revealing patterns of form, structure, and movement that connect it all.
This members-only event includes an intimate walkthrough of the exhibition with the artist, in conversation with Sam Barzilay, Creative Director and Co-Founder of Photoville, and Martina Caruso, Director of Collections and Exhibitions at the South Street Seaport Museum. The morning will also feature a book signing for Jon McCormack: Patterns Art of the Natural World inside Bowne & Co., Stationers, located at 211 Water Street, with copies available for purchase. Light bites and refreshments will be provided.
Space is very limited for this exclusive event—reserve your spot today. This program is open to current Seaport Museum members. Just click “Reserve” and sign in when prompted to register. Interested in becoming a member to enjoy perks like access to special events like this? Join today to attend.
