March 14 | 2:30–4:30pm | 213 Water Street | Included in General Admission
Join the Seaport Museum for a special event featuring the important work of New York Aquarium’s Youth Ocean Advocates! From 2:30–3:30pm these passionate New York City high school students will showcase their research and advocacy work, tackling wildlife conservation, environmental policies, and their impact on communities and marine ecosystems. Afterwards, meet the advocates and participate in an activity until 4:30pm.
As future leaders in marine conservation, Youth Ocean Advocates support protecting the New York Seascape and inspiring action in local communities. Everyone is welcome to come hear their presentations, learn about their efforts, and support the next generation of environmental change.
This activity is included in your General Admission ticket to the Museum. Admission also brings you aboard the 1885 tall ship Wavertree and 1908 lightship Ambrose at Pier 16, and into all current exhibitions on view in the first-floor Schermerhorn Row galleries at 12 Fulton Street. General Admission also sets you on course to explore Maritime City, the Museum’s immersive, three-floor exhibition at A.A. Thomson & Co., located at 213 Water Street.
About Wildlife Conservation Society and New York Aquarium
The Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) aims to conserve the world’s largest wild places in 14 priority regions, habitat for around 50% of the world’s biodiversity, and a wide range of charismatic megafauna.
The WCS New York Aquarium is part of an effort to save wildlife that began 120 years ago with the creation of the New York Zoological Society, an organization founded on science and hope which has since grown to become the Wildlife Conservation Society.
